Lubbock County could obtain some new grant money to improve roads and other infrastructure projects, pending an application process.
County commissioners agreed Monday morning, Jan. 27 to postpone submission of an application for grant money to create a county energy transportation reinvestment zone. They plan to seek advise from their legal counsel, then meet again later this week to send the application.
Part of the state’s transportation code, the zones are designed to promote infrastructure projects in areas affected by energy development.
