Eight area boxers
make state tourney
Lubbock Warriors boxers Adam Castillo, Kenny Rodriguez and Eric Hernandez and North Lubbock Boxing Club’s Isaiah Hernandez were among nine boxers who earned trips to the state tournament out of the Texas State Regional Golden Gloves Boxing Championships that concluded Saturday in Lubbock.
Castillo advanced in the 141-pound weight class, Rodriguez at 165 and Eric Hernandez at 178. Isaiah Hernandez is the West Texas team’s representative at 123.
