Idalou’s Smith 2A All-State honor
Idalou third baseman Kleat Smith was named to the second team on the Collin Street Bakery/Texas Sports Writers Association All-State baseball team on Tuesday.
Smith, who hit .522 with two home runs and 22 RBIs while stealing five bases, was the only South Plains athlete named to the first, second or third teams.
Several area players, however, did earn honorable mention. Logan Speer of Abernathy was named an honorable mention pitcher and third baseman.
