Counties in the South Plains are under a fire watch until Tuesday evening, March 11.
A combination of sustained 20 mph winds and humidity values at 15 percent or less present a fire hazard for the area, according to the National Weather Service.
Outdoor burning is discouraged.
Affected counties include: Parmer, Castro, Swisher, Briscoe, Bailey, Lamb, Hale, Floyd, Motley, Cochran, Hockley, Lubbock, Crosby, Dickens, King, Yoakum, Terry, Lynn, Garza, Kent and Stonewall.
