Maintaining a garden requires water — but you might be surprised how little.
Lubbock planting experts recommend hopeful gardeners proceed with their plans, despite lingering drought. While they advise against growing plants with heavy water demands, they’re quick to point out how many other options remain.
“There’s a lot more plants you can use than just cactus to do a water-wise landscape,” said Vikram Baliga, horticulture agent for the Lubbock County branch of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service. “...We really do have a lot of options.”
