Lubbock Independent School District, in conjunction with the South Plains Coalition for Child Abuse Prevention, is encouraging Lubbock residents to wear blue on Friday, April 4, to raise awareness of child abuse.
According to a news release from the district, an average of four cases of child abuse or neglect are reported each day in Lubbock County.
The fourth day of the fourth month of 2014 has been designated to bring awareness to this issue. The goal is for 40,000 people to wear blue Friday.
