Timing is everything in politics, and this is an exceptionally bad time for the Lubbock City Council to be considering a tax increase for its next budget.
There is no good time for a government to bring up the topic of a tax increase to its constituents, but some times are worse than others. Now is one of those worse times for the city of Lubbock.
