Gov. Rick Perry told several hundred people gathered in the United Spirit Arena that Texas Tech has been “very blessed” to have Chancellor Kent Hance serve the university.
“I will suggest there’s been no one, no one in the history of Texas Tech who’s had more effect than this man,” Perry said.
Perry spoke as part of a reception on Wednesday, April 2, honoring Hance’s contributions to Tech as he prepares to step down as chancellor.
“There are great men and women who serve here, and at the top of that list is Kent Hance,” the governor said.
