After dropping Game 1 of a doubleheader with No. 10 Oklahoma City, 7-3, Wayland Baptist sent Mason Taylor to the mound in night cap to try and earn a doubleheader split.
Taylor got the job done, throwing his third shutout of the season. Behind Taylor the Pioneers took Game 2, 2-0.
In Game 1, the Stars (29-14, 17-6) outslugged the Pioneers, notching 11 hits, four for extra-bases, in the 7-3 win, but game two was a different story. Taylor (7-3) gave up just three hits and two walks over seven innings of work.
