Frenship wrapped up the District 4-4A softball championship outright Thursday, beating Monterey 9-5 behind a three-hit, three-RBI game from K’Leigh Arredondo.
Frenship finished 18-12 and 9-1 in district. The Tigers will start the playoffs next week with a series against Caprock, though dates, times and sites are to be determined.
McKaley Johnson singled, homered and drove in two runs for Frenship, which overtook Monterey with a five-run seventh inning.
Clarissa Gonzales went 2 for 3 and drove in a run for the Tigers.
