Texas Department of Public Safety officials have identified the 20-year-old California man and the trooper who reportedly shot and killed him Sunday morning during a traffic stop in south Lubbock.
DPS trooper Corina Jandrew, a 19-year veteran with the department, pulled over Brandon Leonel Monroy of Tulare, Calif., at about 5 a.m. for a traffic violation, according to DPS Cpl. John Gonzalez.
He said Jandrew stopped Monroy for reckless driving.
