Lubbock could be in for some showers this weekend, but likely won’t catch the brunt of the storms towns and cities to the north are anticipating, according to the National Weather Service.
“We have a chance, even tonight we have a chance,” NWS meteorologist Charles Aldrich said. “For tonight, we’re mainly looking at the southern Panhandle, maybe some into rolling plains. We’re looking at 20 percent (in Lubbock).”
Those projections for rain increase to 40 percent Saturday and 45 percent Sunday afternoon at “sunsettish.”
