Lubbock police are hosting a family event Saturday at Texas Roadhouse to benefit two local organizations that help children.
The event is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities include a rib eating contest pitting police officers against restaurant staff, tours of Lubbock Police Department vehicles and face painting.
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 10 percent of the revenue from food purchases made at the restaurant will go to the Children’s Advocacy Center of the South Plains and the Burkhart Center.
