Many Lubbockites awoke to rolling thunder, lightning and downpour Tuesday morning.
Though expected, the deluge came earlier than anticipated, according National Weather Service meteorologist Jason Jordan.
“We knew it was coming,” Jordan said. “It started a little bit earlier than we thought.”
The amounts varied across the area. NWS offices recorded about seven-hundredths of an inch; Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport reported 15-hundredths of an inch. Silverton was the big winner with 0.6 inches.
But the morning shower is just the start.
