AUSTIN (AP) — Texas education officials have announced the seven members of a board of managers that will oversee a troubled Southeast Texas school district that has been investigated over its finances and its handling of services to disabled students.
The board will oversee the management of the Beaumont Independent School District, which has nearly 21,000 students.
Texas Commissioner of Education Michael Williams announced the new board on Monday. They include local business leaders, an attorney and a former CEO of Entergy Texas.
