Playground equipment a decade older than most of the children playing on it could soon be replaced if the Lubbock City Council OKs the project at its Thursday night meeting.
Hoel Park, 9002 Chicago Ave., is next on the list for renovations following 17 other recently updated parks. The improvements, which would cost just shy of $400,000, will replace aging playground equipment and add a perimeter walking track to the park — though the walking path comes with a $15,000 grant, City Councilwoman Karen Gibson said.
