They ignore their summons to report for jury service and let others take up the slack.
The willingness of so many Americans to pass up their right to vote is embarrassing enough. But when citizens fail to show up for jury duty — as more than two-thirds of Lubbock County residents do when they receive their jury summonses — they are neglecting one of the few labors and most important tasks they are called upon to do as American citizens.
