MANSFIELD — Marybeth Sandercox had 17 kills, helping Frenship win two of its three pool-play matches Thursday on the first day of the Sunrise Rotary tournament.
The Tigers beat Fort Worth Southwest 25-11, 25-12 and outlasted West 25-18, 17-25, 25-19, then dropped a 25-11, 25-22 decision to Mansfield Summit.
Frenship got 13 and 11 kills from Clarissa Gonzales and Britni Mosher, respectively, as well as 26 digs from Sidnee Newman and 15 digs from McKaley Johnson.
