Lubbock was ranked the 40th safest city for driving among cities with populations larger than 50,000 in the latest Allstate America’s Best Drivers’ report. That’s 10 spots higher than last year, but there is room for improvement. Be alert, drive defensively and be friendly and calm behind the wheel. And avoid distractions such as cellphones when driving.
