Lubbock Fire Rescue and the Lubbock Professional Fire Fighters Association are raising money for their 2nd Annual Operation Warm Fire Fighters Coats for Kids Program.
This year firefighters hope to raise enough money to purchase 275 winter coats.
“As cold weather approaches hundreds of children in our community will be faced with having to deal with the cold elements without a suitable jacket to wear,” an Oct. 17 post on the Lubbock Fire Department’s Facebook page says.
Last year Lubbock fire fighters provided more than 265 coats to Guadalupe Elementary School.
