DAYTON (AP) — Deputies are searching for a black dog suspected of fatally mauling a 63-year-old rural Southeast Texas woman.
A Liberty County Sheriff’s Office statement says Linda Oliver was found lying in a pool of blood on the living room floor of her rural home four miles north of Dayton.
Deputies fired several shots at the large black dog and believed it was hit at least once, but escaped beneath a fence.
Dayton is 35 miles northeast of Houston.
