Letting pride prevent voting isn’t worth it
Re: The news story “Gardner can’t vote with Native American ID in 2014,” A-J, Oct. 15.
I cannot fathom Mr. Gardner’s case for complaining about the refusal of an election official to accept an out-of-state (Oklahoma) Native American ID when he had possession of more than one legally acceptable Texas ID that would have enabled him to vote legally.
As a member of a family that has Cherokee and Comanche strains dating back three and four generations, I find his case lacking in substance.
