WT holds off WBU in
down-to-wire game
CANYON — Senior guard Drimir Ferguson scored 33 points and West Texas A&M held off Wayland Baptist 84-82 Monday night in its men’s basketball home opener at the First United Bank Center.
WT guard Tez Dumars hit a 3-point goal that put the Buffaloes ahead 82-77 with 49 seconds left. Wayland’s Barry Johnson made a layup and added a 3 with 15 seconds remaining that pulled the Pioneers within 83-82.
