The icy, wintry weather that moved into the South Plains and Panhandle on Thursday forced cancellations in several area basketball tournaments.
Due to the inability to travel for several teams, the Gene Messer Shootout as well as tournaments in Denver City, Shallowater and Whitharral were affected. There are no games scheduled for today for any of those tournaments.
