Some key district games are on tap for Tuesday as the regular season begins to wind down and teams jockey for playoff positioning.
The top battle will be for first place in District 2-3A as Shallowater heads across Lubbock County to face Cooper at 7 p.m. at Pirate Field.
The Pirates (11-15 overall) currently sit atop the league at 6-1, but after a big win over Andrews on Saturday, Shallowater (17-3) has surged into second place at 5-2. Cooper won the first meeting between the two teams in Shallowater, 10-0, behind a two-hit, complete-game effort from Tanner Doucette.
