Parents, students and staff of Dunbar College Preparatory Academy were part of a kickoff celebration Monday, Sept. 9, for a federal grant that will benefit all of Lubbock’s east side.
The $24.5 million grant — which has been named the East Lubbock Promise Neighborhood grant — was awarded to Texas Tech College of Education and will be distributed over five years to provide health care, nutrition education, literacy services and more to residents of LISD’s quadrant 4.
